Senior Lecturer in European History at the University of Chichester
Dr Daria Mattingly is Senior Lecturer in European History at the University of Chichester.
She has organised events related to Ukraine, either on research or activism. In 2024 the University of Chichester hosted Jon Roozenbeek's lecture on information warfare and war in Donbas among online talks by Ukrainian activists based in Ukraine; in spring 2025 they are planning on hosting Oleksandra Matviychuk, Yulia Yurchuk, two screenings: 20 Days in Mariupol, Mr Jones from Andrea Chalupa (permission secured from Andrea Chalupa) and contacted the embassy of Ukraine to invite the Ambassador, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi to give a talk too.
Teaching a module on the history of Ukraine in the 2025/2026 academic year entitled Bloodlands: History of Ukraine in the XX century and supervising five undergraduate dissertations on the politics or history of Ukraine.
She has co-authored short introduction into the Holodomor with Iryna Skubii (Monash University, Australia), monograph on the Holodomor's perpetrators and is co-editor of the volume Holodomor in Global Perspective. She is currently writing a book on the Holodomor and three articles on different topics of social history of collectivisation.
